About Me and the Purpose of This Website
I have been working in the early childcare field for most of my professional career. While in college I worked as a family childcare provider, and later as the owner/director of a large childcare center. After returning to Massachusetts, I became a Licensing Specialist for the Department of Early Education and Care. Most recently, I’ve authored and co-authored books (Redleaf Press) related to early childcare. During this time I’ve also provided training, consultation, and advocacy for providers throughout the United States. I have loved every minute of it!
I understand that early childcare, especially home-based early childcare, can be very isolating. So many of the providers I have consulted with and/or represented at appeal hearings found themselves in difficult situations that could have been prevented. This website was designed to provide targeted information and beneficial support to assist providers in avoiding pitfalls while operating successful, sustainable businesses.
